Mârani Honey is our Himalayan chestnut honey. It is an exotic, limited-harvest monofloral
product from chestnut blossoms. Hand-extracted in small batches by native Apis cerana, it is
prized for its deep amber color, bold woody notes, and unusually high kynurenic acid (KYNA)
and antioxidant content.

Mârani is harvested in the high-altitude regions in the Himalayan highlands from indigenous chestnut species such as Castanea sativa and C. mollissima. Native Apis cerana subspecies forage local flora, producing honey shaped by altitude, mountain soils, and traditional, low-impact harvesting.

It’s rare because chestnut blooms are limited in time and location, and high-altitude foraging
yields are small. Production is constrained by terrain, seasonal flows, native Apis cerana
behavior, and hand extraction, making harvests limited and highly collectible.

We verify authenticity with a combination of methods: pollen signatures, proline and HMF
levels, kynurenic acid (KYNA) profiling, traditional chain-of-custody, and third-party laboratory
testing. These markers, plus traceable sourcing from Apis cerana hives, support genuine
Himalayan chestnut origin.

Our honey is naturally organic in origin, gathered from wild Himalayan chestnut blossoms in
pristine, chemical-free landscapes. It contains no additives, pesticides, or artificial processing.
While every batch reflects pure, untouched nature, formal “organic” certification is specified on
product labels where applicable.

We use minimal-intervention harvesting, favor Apis cerana-friendly practices, avoid chemicals,
